View of tents at the Civialian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp at Cross Clearing, located between Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. The CCC was founded in 1933 and thousands of young men, across the country, were assigned to plant millions of trees; build roads and trails; construct campgrounds and parks; watershed restoration; protect forests; and other projects in state forests.
