Construction of barracks at CCC camp at Barnum Pond
Construction of barracks at the Civilian Conservation Corps camp at Barnum Pond in the Adirondack Mountains. Each building housed about 43 men. The CCC was founded in 1933 and thousands of young men, across the country, were assigned to plant millions of trees; build roads and trails; construct campgrounds and parks; watershed restoration; protect forests; and other projects in state forests.
