Detail of a gateway to the Ming Dynasty Tombs thirty miles north of Peiping (Beijing), China. The five-arched marble gateway is ornately carved and each gateway peak resembles a pagoda. The monumental entrance sits alongside farm fields. Visitors stand at its base.
