New York City Hearings – April 17-18, 1972. Low audio quality. Recording continues General Counsel Arthur Liman’s examination of Sergeant Jack English about the events of September 9, 1971. English makes a final statement. Follow-up questions are asked by Commission members Henix, Wadsworth, Wilbanks, Rothschild, Carter, Marshall, and McKay. Chairman Robert McKay recesses the session. WRVR journalist Dan Mack summarizes the session and details agenda for April 18, 1972. Liman examines Sergeant Richard Miller about his duties, the lock system at Attica, its failure, and the evening events of September 8, 1971. Follow-up questions are asked by Commission members Henix, Broderick, Wadsworth, Carter, Rothschild, and McKay. Miller makes a final statement. Liman examines Warren Hanson, a surgeon at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, New York. Hanson details his experiences at Attica on September 9, 1971.
