View of a power plant of the Rochester Railway and Light Company at the foot of the Lower Falls on the Genesee River at Rochester. An incline railway is at the left, used for transporting materials to the powerhouse. Over one hundred feet of shale and sandstone from the Ordovician Period is exposed (the span of the Earth's history from about 505 to 438 million years ago.). This image was created to record the waterpower activities of the New York State Conservation Commission.
