Council minutes, April 24, 1775
A mob has seized arms lodged in the city hall and the public powder house. Rioters will hold a meeting. Judges of the supreme court, mayor and recorder, and field officers of the militia called to join the council. Captain Benjamin C. Paine, 18th regiment, writes that the mob intend to attack Fort George. Present disorders said to be the consequence of what happened at Boston. Council cannot advise any further measures.
