Oak under planted with Beech, in Spessart, Rotenbach
A cloaked German forester stands amid the oak and beech trees in one of the forests he manages. The larger of the trees are oak, while the saplings are Beech that have been underplanted. The Beech shade the soil. Representatives from the department of conservation toured this forest in order to study forest management methods. This image was created to record the agricultural and forestry studies performed by the New York State Conservation Department.
