This oak forest in Rottenbuch, Germany, has been thinned to allow for the younger oak to grow and expand. The large trees are anywhere from 350-400 years old, while the growth along the ground appeared only after the thinning one year before. Representatives from the department of conservation toured this forest in order to study the forest management methods. This image was created to record the agricultural studies performed by the New York State Conservation Department.
