A sawmill for the town of Cranzahl in the Erzgebirge, or Ore Mountains, of Germany. Workers are breaking up the great rafts of logs that are floated down the nearby river. Representatives from the Conservation Department visited this region of Germany to study agricultural and forestry techniques. This image was created to record the agricultural research performed by the New York State Conservation Department.
