Workers – young and old, male and female – are clearing this ground for the planting of a new crop of scotch pines (Pinus sylvestris). Rows are hacked 40 cm. wide. Space between rows is 60 cm. Representatives from the Conservation Department visited this tree nursery in Grabow, Germany, to study agricultural and forestry techniques. This image was created to record the agricultural research performed by the New York State Conservation Department.
