Forest Stand Improvement in Schuyler County Woodlot
A worker from the Civilian Conservation Corps stands in a clearing created by Forest Stand Improvement (FSI). FSI is a method of improving the production of a woodlot by regular thinning. This is the work of CCC camp S-123, stationed in Beaver Dams, N.Y. This image was created to record the reforestation work of the Civilian Conservation Corps under the supervision of the New York State Conservation Department.
