Enrolled pleadings on parchment by plaintiff and defendant in a common-law action of ejectment. The document is technically called a “nisi prius roll,” supplied to judge and jury for trial in a county court, in this case Albany County. On the reverse is a note of the jury’s award of damages and court costs to plaintiff. “Peter Quiet” was a fictitious plaintiff; the real plaintiff was John Small.
