A work crew plants trees on State land in Madison County, NY. In 1929, the State began to purchase idle farm land outside of the Adirondack preserve for the purposes of reforestation. Work began on these lands starting later that year. This image was created to record the reforestation efforts of the New York State Conservation Department.
