View of six elk (Cervus elaphus) cows in a pen on Debar Mountain in Duane, Franklin County, N.Y. in the Adirondack Mountains. The date is unrecorded, but is sometime between 1900 and 1946. Elk were exterminated in New York State by 1850, but there were attempts to reintroduce them into the Adirondacks from 1900 to 1946. There is no locality named Inman in New York State. This image was created to record the game-related activities of the New York State Conservation Department.
