View of Crab Island on Lake Champlain, which was the site of a military hospital and burial grounds, during the War of 1812, Battle of Plattsburgh. A granite obelisk, in view, marks the site as a federal military cemetery. Hotel Champlain, about four miles south of Plattsburgh on Bluff Point, in the Adirondack Mountain region, ran from 1890-1951. A section the hotel exists today as part of Clinton County Community College.
