Factory Investigating Commission's Wage Classification data cards for Geo. P. Ide & Co., Troy, New York. The cards list types of occupations, gender and age categories of employees, and rates of pay for employees at the factory. Employees were generally paid by the piece. For example, workers who hemmed negligees were paid 5.25¢ to 9¢ per dozen pieces. Employees also had the cost of thread and needles deducted from their pay.
