Notarial copy of an affidavit of the rev. Wilhelmus Grasmeer, late minister of the Gospel in New Netherland, that Cornelis Melyn incited the Nayack and other Indians against director Stuyvesant, who was obliged, in consequence, to be attended by an armed guard whenever he went abroad ; also, that the Nayack Indians, being excited by such reports, behaved very insolently towards the inhabitants of Gravesend.
