It shows the West Branch of the Chenango River, the West Branch Feeder, the spot where the feeder and river connect, a guard bank and two bridges. Also at the top left corner of the map is a small drawing of a horse. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the property of Widow Masters.
