This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in German Flatts. It shows the Mohawk River, Herkimer Flatts, a dam site, the location where the Old Herkimer Canal was terminated, a stream that runs under the canal and into the river, two bridges, twenty-four buildings and the Road to Little Falls. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of the Heirs of F. Frank, N.N Weaver, George Fox, C. Van Deursen and the Western Inland Lock Navigation Company.
