Erie Canal Survey, Rome showing Mohawk River and Feeder to the Erie Canal
This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Rome Canal in Rome. The map is split into two views. The first view shows the Rome Canal and the road to Whitestown. The second view shows the Mohawk River, an Erie Canal feeder, the sight of an Indian camp at the siege of Fort Stanwix, a bridge and the Road to Whitestown. In the upper right corner of the map is a drawing of a dam and Lynch Mill. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the property of the Heirs to Dominick Lynch.
