This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Whitestown. The map is split into two views. The first view shows three bridges, a syphon culvert, sixty-five buildings including the Oriskany Manufacturing Company and six unidentified roads. The second view shows the Village of Oriskany, Oriskany Creek, an old canal channel, the former site of a tow-path, a large dam and basin, five bridges, twelve buildings and the Road to Whitesboro. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of William Chever, B. and J.R. Bleeker, G. and C. Green and Lot No. 1, 14 and 15.
