Erie Canal Survey, Brighton showing two views of Canal
This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Brighton. The map is split into two views. The first view shows a bridge, a lock lot, two unidentified roads, a church and sixteen other buildings located mostly around a large downward bend in the canal. These buildings appear to be mills. The second view shows a bridge and an unidentified road. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of Oliver Howes, Dr. Holten, Sam Gould and Drake.
