It shows the City of Rochester, the Genesee River with two waterways branching off into the canal, Child’s Slip, Multiple basins and culverts, eight bridges including two that span the river, two mills and approximately seventy five other buildings. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows Washington Street, South Street, St. Paul Street, Clinton Street, Buffalo Street, Spring Street, Exchange Street, Sophia Street and Fitz Hugh Street.
