This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Champlain Canal in Fort Edward. The map is split into two views. The first view shows the Town of Fort Edward, the Hudson River, Rogers Island, a stream and waste weir, a guard lock, the Fort Edward Dam and eight buildings including a clothing works and a saw mill. The second view shows the Village of Fort Edward, the Hudson River, the Fort Edward Feeder, a large basin, three bridges, over fifty buildings, Sandy Hill Road and Main Street. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of Timothy Eddy, White, Martin, Daniel Wing, W McIntyre, P. Holbrook, T. Locke, H. Porbes, J. Me. Hill, W. Rogers and J. D. Wolf.
