This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Niskayuna and Clifton Park. It shows the Mohawk River, an entrance to a canal feeder, a wing dam, a large aqueduct which spans the river, multiple basins, Lock No. 27 and 28, two bridges, the former site of Alexander’s Bridge and twenty-nine buildings. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of Widow Nancy Alexander, Rexford, J. Rexford, S.H. Wakeman, I. Howe and Col. S. Young.
