This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Rotterdam. The map is split into two views. The first view shows Navarino Bay, two bridges, ten buildings and the Road to Schenectady. The second view shows the Mohawk River, two streams that meet and run under the canal through a culvert, seven buildings and the Road to Schenectady. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of J. Delmont, Morrison, J. Girvin, F.P. Clute, John I. Van Eps, J. Schermerhorn, Widow Bunker, J.W. Schoolcraft and Gerrit S. Veeder.
