Letter to the New York State Comptroller from Notary Public George Emerson on behalf of Phoebe Meech, widow of Horace Meech, a veteran of the New York State Volunteers (I Company) during the Mexican War. Emerson wrote indicating his displeasure at Phoebe Meech’s claim for pension money being rejected, and requested the return of all papers submitted to the Comptroller’s Office so that he could bring up the issue at the next meeting of the Legislature.
