The Hart Memorial Library, also known as the Troy Public Library, in Troy, New York. The library opened in 1897 and is loosely based on Italian renaissance palaces. It features elaborate carvings on its facade and an original Tiffany window designed by Frederick Wilson. The window portrays Venetian scholar Aldus Manutius, who adapted the octavo format to texts in order to generate widespread circulation of inexpensive books.
