Photograph of the site of the Treaty of Big Tree in Geneseo, New York. The Treaty of Big Tree was held between the Seneca Nation and the United States, negotiated from August 20 - September 16, 1797. The treaty opened up territory west of the Genesee River and established reservations, annuities, and hunting and fishing rights for the Seneca.
