Aerial photograph, no. 2 in a sequence, taken by plane flying across lower Manhattan from southeast to northwest a few days after the September 11 terrorist attack upon the World Trade Center, on September 15, 2001. On this date, parts of the site were still on fire.
The domed structures and a pyramid-topped building toward top right are part of the World Financial Center complex, much of which was badly damaged on September 11. Immediately above the World Financial Center is West Street. When 1, 2, and 3 World Trade Center collapsed on September 11, this section of the street was covered by debris.
