Aerial photograph, no. 6 in a sequence, taken by plane flying across lower Manhattan from southeast to northwest a few days after the September 11 terrorist attack upon the World Trade Center, on September 15, 2001. On this date, parts of the site were still on fire.

The ramps of the Brooklyn Bridge are at top left. Note the absence of traffic: until September 20, only emergency vehicles were permitted to use the bridge.
