Shortly after World War I ended, a project was begun to investigate New York State’s role in the war. For this project, numerous pictures, letters, documents, and other records were requested from New York's towns, residents, and businesses. This letter is a reply from the Eastman Kodak Company of Rochester, New York to State Historian James Sullivan, agreeing to send a record of supplies produced for the war effort. The letter mentions the company's manufacturing war work with airplane varnishes, cameras, lenses for gun-sights (and in particular the Lewis Gun), camouflage for ships, and colloidal fuel.
