Hatching jars for herring, white fish and muskalonge
View of eight cylindrical tanks in a fish hatchery used for hatching the eggs of "herring" (probably alewife, Alosa pseudoharengus), "white fish" (probably lake whitefish, Coregonus clupeaformis), and muskellunge (Esox masquinongy), location unknown. The date is also unrecorded, but likely ca. 1911-1920. This image was created to record the fish control activities of the New York State Conservation Commission.
