New York housing complex Madison Street and Catherine Streets on the lower east side of Manhattan named for New York Governor Alfred E. Smith. Seven high-rise apartment buildings completely surrounded by city streets and buildings. A park, athletic courts, parking lots and two smaller buildings can be seen on the development grounds. Part of the Brooklyn Bridge crossing the East River can be seen in the foreground; an elevated railway and train lines can be seen in the background.
