Captree Bridge Construction, N.Y.
View of a line of pilings being set into a narrow channel between two islands (probably Captree Island and Jones Beach) as part of the construction of the Captree State Parkway Bridge (later renamed the Robert Moses Causeway) linking Fire Island to West Bay Shore in Islip, Suffolk County. The bridge opened in 1954. The Traffic Circle is the end of Ocean Parkway.
