Boat Basin Entrance, N.Y.
View of a narrow strait between two sandy beaches leading into a deeper channel, exact location unknown but probably on the south shore of Long Island. The current appears to be flowing towards the right; the water is carrying sand in that direction. The narrow strait may have been dug for the use of boaters.
