U.S. Subtreasury, New York City
Exterior view of the United States Subtreasury building located at 26 Wall Street in New York City on the site of the first national capitol building. Built in 1842, the current building served first as U.S. Customs House. From 1863 to 1920, it was a U.S. Subtreasury. In 1920, it became a Federal Reserve Bank. Currently, the building is a national memorial (Federal Hall). The statue of George Washington on the front steps was created by J. Q. A. Ward.
