Tower of Madison Sq. Garden, New York City
Exterior view of the second Madison Square Garden building at Fifth and Madison Avenues, 26th and 27th Streets, New York City. The building, designed by Stanford White, was built in 1890 and demolished in 1925. It featured a 32-story tower topped by a nude statue of the Roman goddess Diana. Inside were an arena, theater, concert hall and swimming pool. White was shot and killed on the rooftop garden of this building by Harry Thaw in 1906.
