Bronze statue of Lafayette and Washington in a hand shake in Lafayette Square on 114th Street and Morningside Avenue in New York City. The statue was designed by French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904). A large building with awnings is in the background and several children can also be seen standing or sitting on the rail around the statue.
