N.Y. Brooklyn. Bay Ridge, Washington's headquarters.
Exterior view of Revolutionary War-era house that was the site of George Washington's headquarters in the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn, New York. Bay Ridge, located on the southwestern tip of Brooklyn, was formerly called Yellow Hook until a yellow fever outbreak in 1853. The Battle of Brooklyn (also known as the Battle of Long Island) was fought here in August of 1776.
