N.Y. Albany. State Capitol. Assembly Staircase
View of Assembly Staircase in State Capitol. The sandstone staircase with carved banisters and Gothic arches descends counterclockwise around a rectangular opening. Designed by Leopold Eidlitz, the Assembly Staircase was the first staircase in the capitol to be completed. It opened on January 7, 1879.
