Motion Picture Division Analysis of the Mexican film "La Mulata de Córdoba" ("The Mulatto of Córdoba"), 1946, and an application for a license to be screened in New York State. The determination of the division was that the film would "deepen, intensify, and extend racial hatreds" while being "immoral, tend[ing] to corrupt morals, and tend[ing] to incite to crime." It was therefore not granted a license to be screened in New York State. The application was submitted by Clasa-Mohme, Inc. "La Mulata de Córdoba," directed by Adolfo Fernández Bustamante, told a tense, violent story of race relations in Cuba. The original film was banned in New York by the Motion Picture Division. However, a later version was approved in 1948.
