Report of the examiner of the Motion Picture Division, letter to the distributor Cinexport Film Co., application to be licensed by the Motion Picture Division to be screened in New York State, and sample page of dialogue for the Spanish film "La Verbena de la Paloma" ("The Carnival of the Dove"), 1938. The report indicated that eliminations were recommended before the film be allowed to be screened in New York. The letter, from the Motion Picture Division, required eliminations of certain scenes in order for the film to be screened in New York. "La Verbena de la Paloma" was a film version of a zarzuela (a Spanish form of opera containing spoken dialogue) composed originally by the renowned Tomás Bretón. It was directed by Benito Perojo.
