Eliminations made to script, "Profanación," 1934

Eliminations mandated to the script; report of Motion Picture Division examiner; second report of Motion Picture Division examiner; order that a projecting room be provided for a screening; sample pages of the script; and sworn deposition of translator that the English version of the script of the film was a "true translation...of the spoken dialog" for the Mexican film "Profanación" by the Motion Picture Division, 1934. The division was most concerned with removing references to drugs, particularly cocaine. The examiner recommended that numerous eliminations be made in the script before the film be allowed to be screened in New York. The film's distributor had made eliminations based on the original report of the examiner, and resubmitted it to the division. However, the examiner asked for further cuts to be made. The scripts were in English and Spanish. The deposition was notarized.
